Obituary for Thomas W. Schmeltz

Thomas W. Schmeltz age 65, of Bourbon passed away May 8, 2019 of an accidental drowning.

Thomas was born the son of Ray and Mary Martha (Toole) Schmeltz on January 5, 1954 at Mishawaka, Indiana where he had a been a resident before moving to Bourbon. He was a financial load officer and worked for Crossmart Company installing special displays at various stores in the area. One of his favorite sports was softball where he had coached at LaSalle and John Adams High Schools. He played fast picture softball as a pitcher. After graduation from Penn High School he continued his education at Manchester College graduating with a Business degree.

His survivors include his sister: Marcia and Bill Keyser of Bourbon and brother Jack and Dorothy Schmeltz of Fayetteville, GA, along with nieces and nephews: Beth and Eric Mann of Plymouth, Jeff and Teresa Keyser of Bourbon, Jane and Bob Lichkay of Fayetteville, GA and Terry Keyser of Bourbon. Preceding in death were his father (October of 1980) and his mother (November 20, 2003).

There are no services planned at this time. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Triton Athletic Department or the Plymouth Athletic Department. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home 115 S. Main Street, Bourbon, IN 46504.
